Movies review

During PHilo lecture, we were contemplating if to go vivo for some movie actions. After much hesitation, we thought we should just go for it. So we went for the screening of 'The Orphanage' at 9.05pm! :) Of course, we did our homework (reading up reviews, watching trailers...) and went into the theatre with high expectations for the movie.

After the show, our satisfaction level wasn't there. The story plot wasn't as exciting as what the reviews state, the horror estimate wasn't there! This movie is not very scary afterall. Story plot, horrifying level amounted to 5 out of 10 stars. Acting, visuals are acceptable.

Anyway, last 2 weeks I watched 'Rule #1'. Although the story plot was nothing unusual, in fact it's quite expected if U are a guru for such genre of movie, there are still some interesting parts to this show. You can expect to see neo-noir adventures of sorts, haunted cinemas, swimming pool, school and random spirits. Rule #2 or 3 : Thing are not what they seem to be. I find this statement very true. I guess I can link this rule to Descartes's 1st meditation. Back to the movie, there are some disgusting parts here. The foetus' soup, the 1st appearance of the spirit (her make up is gore!) and that bunch of hair that Shawn Yue 'picked' it from the sewage. Stars given : 7.5/10.
